The Home Opener Chaos Kick-off
“A sample of the many great improvisers we have in town mixed with our local heroes!”
Start the festival with a big stage full of appetizers. Delicious yet hilarious appetizers! We are creating brand new configurations of improv players, sometimes called “Chaos Teams”! This will feature our local players mixing it up with our exciting out-of-town improv guests!

“Just like the title says! An improv show that is funny, spooky and scary!”
This is an improv show that will being you two kinds of spooky. One will be a spooky improv show that is filled with funny. This show will be directed by Jenna Goldade, from Red Deers’ Bullskit Comedy. The show will also bring us a spooky show that is eerie. One that will give us a cold shiver down our spine. This show will be directed by Katy Schutte (from the UK). No actual spooky, scary skeletons will be dancing in the show tonight.

“Two special duo showcases and then a Snapshot!”
The show starts off with a first half of duo improv. Two powerhouse improv players named Katy and Caity. One from the UK and one from right here in Canada. Performing what will be a legendary improv set. Then we have another soon-to-be legendary improv duo set. This time from Montreal. Kristina and Mason bring the improv style from Theatre St. Catherine. And this is only the first half of the show! The second half features the festival ensemble performing a format called "Snapshot", directed by Chris Mead (also from the UK). This show will be so good, but please relax, it’s only pretend.

“Won’t you take us to [Spookytown]”
Club Soda Improv rounds out our Halloween-inspired evening with Spookytown, a long-form improv show that takes place in, you guessed it, a spooky town. Inspired in part by Widow’s Bay, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and one of Kevin’s fever dreams, Club Soda will portray members of a town experiencing a haunt of the audience’s choosing.

“Come say goodbye to improv with us!”
The very last show of the improv festival always brings a special energy as we all say goodbye to improv together. The show will be a culmination of the week's worth of performances. The last show will feature our guests from the UK (Katy and Chris) performing a show called “Project2”. Project2 is an acclaimed UK-based live improvised science fiction theatre show created and performed by veteran improvisers Katy Schutte and Chris Mead. The show will also showcase one last newly created work by the festival ensemble. And then, improv goes to bed and sleeps (until the next improv show, of course).
